Safety

The Blue Mountain Railroad is a private, backyard railroad. No fees nor fares are collected. Parents please remember that YOU are responsible for your children.

Please DO NOT:

• Walk/run on the tracks
• Run alongside the tracks
• Touch the engine while it is fired up
• Stand on the tracks while the locomotive is in motion

Please DO

• Stay seated while the locomotive is in motion
• Stay at least 7ft away from the train when it is in motion
• Cross only behind the train 
• When the train is moving, cross the tracks only after the train is passed you when at the station platform, otherwise cross at the designated crossing.
• When train is stationary, look to ensure the train is not moving and will not be moving long enough for you to cross safely

A rules sign will be posted at the railroad and please be sure to follow these rules at all times. If you have any questions/concerns/suggestions etc, contact us and we will answer your questions to the best of our ability.And remember, Safety First!
